Meet Dr. Kenneth Chua – Clinical Audiologist and Hearing Aid Audiologist
Dr. Kenneth Chua is an experienced Audiologist in Singapore with extensive expertise in hearing diagnostics, hearing rehabilitation, hearing aid management, vestibular assessment, and vestibular rehabilitation.
Over the past decade, he has helped individuals experiencing hearing loss, tinnitus, dizziness, balance disorders, and vestibular conditions through evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches. His combination of clinical expertise, academic appointments, research contributions, and international training has established him as a recognised hearing and balance specialist in Singapore.
Dr. Chua has served as a Clinical Audiologist at Changi General Hospital and has held academic appointments with Duke-NUS Medical School and the National University of Singapore. He is also a certified vestibular audiologist who has completed advanced vestibular training through the American Institute of Balance.

The team piloted the incorporation of a giddiness counselling service during treatment for patients who suffer from dizziness due to health anxieties. Besides examining the series of tests done on the patients, clinicians use components from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, such as deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation, to educate and assure patients that the dizziness will not affect their daily activities, improving the patients’ quality of life.
Psychoeducation plays an important role in managing patients with chronic dizziness; it warms our hearts when we see the look of relief on the patient’s face when we explain their condition to them.
The Allied Health Innovative Practice (Evidence-Based Practice) award recognises projects that advance clinical practice and patient care through review and application of scientific evidence.

Kenneth Chua, Senior Audiologist, Audiology
Kenneth was the principal co-investigator for two studies – a randomised control trial to study the effectiveness of vitamin D on reducing Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) recurrence in older adults, and a study on using the novel ear impression method with artificial intelligence to predict the shape of the ear canal.He also peer-reviewed seven journals on audiology-related conditions and treatment options in 2020 and 2021. Kenneth stays updated on the current research landscape in healthcare, and actively looks out for opportunities to carry out research projects.
